Empart (Empart UK) is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, registered in England and Wales (Charity number 1163285).

Empart is a non-profit organisation that is committed to maintaining a high level of accountability and transparency. As such, Empart does not issue any shares nor pay dividends to any person or organisation that supports it. Its management policy is based upon biblical principles.

Empart is registered separately in each country it operates according to existing regulations. Each entity is then managed by its own independent board which is overseen informally by an international board. It is the responsibility of each country’s board to ensure agreed standards are met. Each board undertakes to respect the laws in force in their respective countries.

External accountability

Empart is a member of Missions Interlink and adheres to the MI Standards Statement.

Excellence in Giving is a full-service philanthropic advisory firm who undertook a comprehensive assessment of Empart’s governance, strategy, finances, impact, communication and technology. This included on-site visits to the field.

“Empart has a clear strategy and a history of meeting ministry goals. Founder Jossy Chacko has structured the organisation to maintain accountability at the local level without creating a hierarchical institution. Field workers receive enough support to survive but not too much to create long-term dependency on a pay cheque.

Empart has continued to adjust its organisational structure and invest in technological infrastructure to keep pace with rapid growth in the field. Empart has been able to transfer decision-making responsibilities to field leadership. A strong and active Field Board show progress toward long-term indigenous leadership of a locally owned community development movement.”
